EssilorLuxottica has confirmed that is has decided to file an appeal against the Dutch District Court’s judgement to dismiss its demands for disclosure of information from GrandVision.
The optical provider initially took legal action in July to obtain information on how GrandVision conducted business during Covid-19, but it was dismissed in August.
EssilorLuxottica wanted to assess if the company had breached obligations under the support agreement as part of its proposed acquisition.
It noted that legal proceedings do not affect the investigation of the proposed transaction by the competition authorities in the remaining jurisdictions, including the European Commission.
