Independent optical practice Aston & Woods welcomed patients to a trunk show this week to mark the launch of latest frame collections by Cutler and Gross and Garrett Leight.
Practice owners Keval and Sona Thakerar, pictured, showcased 100 styles from each brand and used national and social media to flag up the event, where guests were treated to chocolate, Champagne and cupcakes.
‘When you are at the higher end of the market it has to be about the lifestyle and looking after people,’ said Keval Thakerar.
Frames at the boutique practice on Tottenham Court Road start at £135, rising to £8,000 for a diamond encrusted Lindberg model. The duo have visited the Silmo and Mido trade shows for inspiration and ideas, and often secured orders with brand exclusivity in the Tottenham Court Road and Marylebone areas.
‘We want to pick eyewear that isn’t showcased everywhere because people come to us for something special,’ added Thakerar.
