Bayfields Opticians and Audiologists has increased its total number of practices and taken several steps toward doubling in size by 2023 after it completed three acquisitions.

The independent group, which has been backed by investment group BGF, acquired two practices in Knaresborough, North Yorkshire and one in London.

Bayfields has taken its total number of practices to 22, which was in line with reaching 30 by the end of the year and 40 by 2023.

Royston Bayfield, founder and CEO of Bayfields, said: ‘Each practice closely aligns with our overall aim to be an integral part of the local community, taking the time to understand every client’s personal and family circumstances, which is reflected in the importance we place on our client journey.’

Darryl Taylor Optometrists and Samantha Parker Opticians in Knaresborough would merge, add audiology services and rebrand as Bayfields later this month as part of the acquisition.

Optometrist Darryl Taylor has retired while Samantha Parker has stepped back from management to focus on her role as an optometrist.

At E Aves Opticians in South Woodford, London, which would also rebrand and add audiology services, the team would remain in place while the owner retired.
