CEO embarks on ride of a lifetime for charity

Birmingham Optical CEO Steve Fleming will be taking part in a charity bike ride from Lands’ End to John O’ Groats.

Over the course of nine days Fleming will be cycling 985 miles and is set to reach John O’ Groats on May 3.

He hopes to raise £3,000 for Birmingham Optical charity partner Childhood Eye Cancer Trust which supports the families of young children diagnosed with retinoblastoma and funds research into prevention and treatment.

‘The challenge I am about to embark isn’t going to be easy but will most definitely be worth it. I am excited to push myself up to and past my limits for such a fantastic cause,’ said Fleming. ‘Thank you to my sponsors and everybody who has donated so far, I am certainly feeling ready to enjoy and complete this experience of a lifetime.’
