The College of Optometrists’ sixth annual Optometry Tomorrow Bitesize conference last weekend attracted over 280 attendees – its highest total ever.

Held at the Hilton London Wembley, the conference featured lectures, workshops and a joint presentation from consultant ophthalmologist Kam Balaggan and his patient Professor Gilmartin, who has severe macular degeneration.

Other notable highlights included a presentation from David Crabb, professor of statistics and vision research at City University London, on using big data and another by Melanie Hingorani, consultant ophthalmologist at Moorfields, on allergic eye disease.

Optometry Tomorrow 2019, the College’s annual two-day conference, will take place at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole in Birmingham on February 24-25.
