People with blue eyes are better academic achievers than people with brown eyes, according to research from the University of Louisville.

Tests carried out by scientists led by professor Joanna Rowe revealed that brown-eyed people had faster reaction times but those with blue eyes appeared to be better strategic thinkers. Therefore, those with brown eyes succeeded in sports such as football, while lighter-eyed people were better at studying for exams and activities that required time structuring, they claimed, as reported in The Daily Mail.

Rowe said there was no scientific explanation for the findings: 'It is just observed, rather than explained,' she said. 'There's no scientific answer yet.' Dr Tony Fallone, a senior psychology lecturer at Bedfordshire University who has also studied eye colour, backed the findings.
