Optometry students at the University of Bradford move into new building

Optometry students at the University of Bradford have moved into a new ‘Digital Health Enterprise Zone’ at the campus.

The university’s department of Optometry and Vision Science and university eye clinic have been placed in the same building as part of the move. Pharmacy, physiotherapy and health promotion were also housed within the Phoenix Building, following investment from the university, City of Bradford council and private companies.

Professor Edward Mallen, head of the School of Optometry and Vision Science at Bradford, said: ‘The students have the start of the journey and the end of it right here in one space.’

Undergraduates had been based at the university’s Richmond building, while the eye clinic has moved across from the Forster building.
