A single-decker bus operated by Yorkshire Tiger has crashed into an opticians in West Yorkshire.

The BBC reported that one witness heard two loud bangs and saw a cloud of smoke and dust, initially believing it to be a bomb. Emergency services have said that no one on the bus or in the Shipley Eyewear practice was seriously injured.

Colin Glover, a retired lorry driver, and his wife were stood nearby when the bus crashed into the shop. He said: ‘I ran straight to the bus and lifted the flap to turn the engine off. There were lots of people trying to help get people off the bus, but I don't know how many there were on board. It was quite a panic. People were wondering what had happened.’

It is thought that the two members of staff at the practice were on a lunch break when the incident took place.
