Cheltenham optometrist suspended
Author: Andrew McClean
Cheltenham-based optometrist Ariana Faderani has been suspended from the General Optical Council’s register for 12 months after a committee found her fitness to practise impaired by reason of misconduct.
The decision was made in relation to Faderani falsifying sight test records to inflate her sales figures, so that her employer would pay a related bonus to her instead of the registrant who had treated the patients.
In addition, the fitness to practise committee found that Faderani deceived her employer by using study days for recreational travel instead of attending a course in Reading.
