Cole Martin Tregaskis Optometrists celebrates its 70th anniversary this month

Essex-based Cole Martin Tregaskis Optometrists celebrated its 70th anniversary this month at a party attended by colleagues and patients.

The Brentwood practice was established by founding president of the College of Optometrists Dr Philip Cole OBE and is now one of the largest in the area with over 32,000 patients.

Leading academics Bob Fletcher, David Pickwell and Adrian Jennings all completed their training with Dr Cole.

Owner Professor Bruce Evans, who made a speech on the night, said his team were outstanding and thanked all staff and loyal patients who had helped the practice grow.

Despite not advertising for over 20 years, the practice currently sees an extra 100 patients per month thanks to its primary care work and specialist clinical services, which include dry eye and myopia control.

Dr Cole could not attend due to health issues, but deputy mayor of Brentwood, councillor Will Russell, cut the cake as guest of honour.
