Synergi contact lens solution will be phased out of the market by December, its producer Coopervision has announced.
The company said despite being a trusted and effective product, it felt that a forthcoming research paper would affect its reputation and sales. ‘Unfortunately, the cost and time to recover that reputation does not justify continued production,’ said a company statement.
The company refused to comment on the nature of the research paper or its data because it was still in the process of being submitted to a peer-reviewed journal. However, it reiterated that the solution could be used with complete confidence.
