Ullevål University Hospital in Oslo has cancelled operations in its eye clinic

Ullevål University Hospital in Oslo, Norway has cancelled operations and treatments in its eye clinic after one of its doctors tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19).

The eye surgeon had recently returned from a skiing trip in Trentino, northern Italy, and had contact with several hundred patients and colleagues before he tested positive for the virus.

Sterile clothing was worn during the procedures, but authorities have confirmed four other coronavirus cases in Ullevål employees, with another 150 workers now in quarantine.

Ullevål, Norway’s largest hospital, has been attempting to contact hundreds of patients to determine whether they have been infected.
