CQC award for SpaMedica

The Skelmersdale hospital received the highest possible overall rating

SpaMedica’s Skelmersdale hospital has received an outstanding rating by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and an excellent score for cataract.

In achieving the highest possible overall rating, SpaMedica said the CQC praised hospital teams for ‘consistently exceeding patient expectations and outcomes,’ and highlighted short waiting times for treatment, and the compassion and kindness of staff.

Richard Woodward, CEO of SpaMedica, said: ‘I’m absolutely delighted that the excellent care at Skelmersdale has been recognised with an ‘outstanding’ rating. Seeing the results of the CQC report is incredibly rewarding and a great testament to the work of every single person in the team.

The Skelmersdale site, located at Whelmar House, Southway, opened in 2018 and is one of 38 hospitals across England operated by SpaMedica.
