Optical practice business owners face prospect of losing their investments

Optical practice business owners face the prospect of losing tens of thousands of pounds after franchise Crosseyes filed for bankruptcy in Denmark.

Copenhagen-based law firm, Bech-Bruun, has been appointed to deal with creditors. The firm invited those with claims against the company to get in contact by the first week of December.

In September, the UK arm of Crosseyes confirmed legal proceedings had been brought against the company by a former franchisee over breach of contract. However, Optician understands that a number of franchisees were in litigation at the time.

Joint CEOs of Crosseyes UK, Harpreet and Amardip Kular, told Optician today they had resigned from their positions before the bankruptcy had been filed, but refused to make further comment.
