Cues in Leicestershire

Cues launched on May 11 in Leicestershire

East Midlands Medical Service (EMMS) has been awarded the contract to deliver Urgent Eyecare Services (Cues) in Leicestershire, which was launched on May 11.

The private provider, which was founded by two and optometrists and two ophthalmologists in 2008, has used web-based platform EyeV to deliver the service.

John Duffy, optometrist and co-founder of EMMS, said: ‘The service is based upon the Locsu model, but with a slight modification in the pathway at the commissioners request, as we were asked to incorporate a service established by the local NHS Trust which provides face to face urgent eyecare delivered by a team of hospital optometrists all with IP.’
