Cycling for Ukraine

Black and Lizars supported charity cycle 1,000 miles from Ukraine to Scotland

Black and Lizars supported Scottish lawyer Andrea Fraser, who cycled over 1,000 miles from Ukraine to Scotland to raise money for Baby Lifeline and animal charity Breaking the Chains.

The optical practice provided medical equipment and generators to use when power sources were disrupted because of air strikes. Starlink systems were also donated to provide internet and mobile phone access to Breaking the Chains, hospitals and orphanages.

Fraser flew to Krakow on October 12 to pick up an ambulance car full of emergency supplies for animals and deliver it to Ukraine before cycling back to Edinburgh.

Since the war in Ukraine started, Baby Lifeline provided medical support to pregnant women and babies, and Breaking the Chains set up a veterinary clinic while also delivering aid in areas that were difficult to access.
