Italian eyewear producer De Rigo and sports fashion brand Fila have renewed their licence agreement for the design, production and distribution of Fila branded ophthalmic frames and sunglasses in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Americas, Australia and New Zealand.

The deal between the two companies has been extended to 2023, consolidating a partnership that was first launched in 1996. De Rigo said with double digit growth in turnover in 2016 and a positive start to 2017, Fila eyewear played a key role in the company’s portfolio.

‘The renewal lays the foundations for the increasingly effective development of the brand’s authority also in the sports and street eyewear segment,’ said Michele Aracri, CEO of De Rigo Vision.

‘Fila produces sportswear that corresponds with the athletic image of the champions that wear it. But that’s not all. Thanks to a product range attentive to the latest fashion trends it is able to capitalise on the athleisure trend, which continues to be very popular with consumers,’ he added.
