De Rigo donations

The eyewear company has donated frames to medical workers in Veneto, Italy

De Rigo has developed two initiatives in partnership with the local authorities in the Veneto region in Italy in order to aid economic recovery following the pandemic.

The eyewear company has donated €100,000 to the ULSS n1 Dolomiti local health and social care facility in Belluno through an agreement with BMR Genomics.

With De Rigo’s donation, BMR Genomics can analyse the nasopharyngeal swabs of 2,500 hospital workers and study the spread of Covid-19 in the area.

De Rigo has also donated 10,000 frames that would be given to Veneto’s medical workers who have been involved in the providing care during the pandemic.

Barbara De Rigo, marketing director of the De Rigo house brands, said: ‘This initiative sets out, not only to offer our collective thanks and encouragement to such deserving people, but also to encourage the safe return to everyday life in towns and shops.’
