Petition by Driving Blind campaign attracts 1,184 signatures.

A petition by the Driving Blind campaign for the government to take action to reduce road accidents caused by drivers with vision problems has now attracted 1,184 signatures.

The Driving Blind manifesto said new drivers should be vision tested and certified by an optician, with follow-up tests every 10 years up until the age of 70, where drivers should be tested every three years.

This campaign was in response to drivers in the UK being able to pass their test without having any examinations to prove their vision is of a high enough standard or any follow up tests for the rest of their lives.
