Duncan and Todd Group acquires nine Black & Lizars practices

Duncan and Todd Opticians becomes largest optical regional chain in Scotland

Duncan and Todd Opticians has become the largest optical regional chain in Scotland after acquiring nine practices from Black & Lizars.

This deal will increase the number of practices by almost a third and 56 members of staff from Black & Lizars will transfer over to Duncan and Todd. The group will move into seven places in Scotland that it hasn’t previously been in and will rebrand two Black & Lizars’ Aberdeen practices.

Duncan and Todd managing director Frances Rus said that the deal was ‘an ideal fit for us in terms of the services provided and the branch network’ and that the location of the practices ‘allows us to offer our integrated hearing and eye care services across a much wider expanse of Scotland, particularly in Perth and Stirling and around the west coast, which are all new locations for Duncan and Todd.’
