Duncan & Todd acquires Dempster Opticians

Duncan & Todd has begun its ‘new chapter’ by acquiring Peebles-based practice Dempster Opticians.

The group said the acquisition forms part of its ‘national rollout of optician and hearing care services’.

Dempster Opticians has been located in Peebles for more than 40 years and has a ‘loyal customer base’, according to Duncan & Todd CEO, Frances Rus. ‘Welcoming it into the Group is an exciting opportunity for us as we look to extend our footprint and bring our market-leading services to new communities across Scotland.’

The acquisition comes after a £15m investment from the firm LDC at the end of March 2018, and Duncan & Todd now seeks to further strengthen its position in Scotland by rolling out its audiology service across the country.
