Dunelm Optical’s Spectre Drive now incorporates a night vision zone

Dunelm Optical’s personalised progressive, Spectre Drive, now incorporates a night vision zone. Billed as the ‘perfect driving lens for all conditions’, the frames feature digital ray-path technology combined with UV3G lenses and a new design for night myopia.

The lens uses a power distribution created specifically for driving and the night vision zone enables greater visual quality, while reducing fatigue during night time rides.

Phil Lawson, surfacing manager for Dunelm Optical, said: ‘Night myopia is a phenomenon that affects many wearers. It causes a loss of the ability to focus on distant objects at night and affects both ametropics and emmetropics.

‘Standard progressive lenses can make it uncomfortable to drive, having an inadequate distance visual field or limited peripheral vision. Spectre Drive has been developed to maximise intermediate distance vision which are the areas most used for driving. It offers optimised vision of the road, dashboard and mirrors.’
