Vision Care for Homeless People’s Crisis at Christmas week resulted in around 300 eye examinations at 36 clinics across the country.

Volunteers referred 16 patients for further investigation, while an Outside Clinic donation of four mobile optometrist kits helped facilitate the running of the centres.

A total of 243 pairs of spectacles donated by Specsavers were now being processed for the patients by Essilor’s London lab, a statement said. Once glazed the spectacles will be protected in donated Optoplast cases.
