Eddie Watson is awarded FODO Life Membership
Eddie Watson has been awarded with Life Membership of the Federation of (Ophthalmic and Dispensing) Opticians for ‘long and outstanding service to the organisation and the optical sector’.
The former FODO director, who served two stints with the organisation between May 2007 and November 2017, retired from Boots Opticians last week after 38 years in optometry.
Watson was presented with the award by FODO director and former chair Paul Carroll during the organisation’s Away Day last week.
FODO chief executive David Hewlett said: ‘We will miss Eddie as a staunch FODO colleague and director. He could always cut through flim-flam and get to the heart of issues. On behalf of everyone at FODO, I wish him a long and happy retirement.’
