The International Opticians Association (IOA) has announced that entries are open for the 2019 Silmo IOA International Optician of the Year Awards.
Winning attributes that judges will look for in applicants include professionalism, excellent communication skills, entrepreneurial spirit, innovation, specialisation, creativity, engagement and advocacy.
The judges will agree on a shortlist of up to four people and the winner will be announced during the Silmo d’Or ceremony in Paris, France later this year.
Fiona Anderson, president of the IOA, said: ‘The Silmo IOA Optician of the Year is a professional who embodies the attributes of a skilled optician who is passionate about their craft. They are outstanding in their field and inspire others to be the very best they can be. Their reputation will precede them and they will be a true beacon in the optical sector.’
