Essilor continues growth through acquisitions

Company sees consolidated revenue increase by 10%

Essilor International saw consolidated revenue for the first quarter of 2017 increase by 10% to €1,962m.

Sales of its lenses and optical instruments in Europe grew 8.2% during the quarter to reach €508m, although the sales environment in the UK was described as ‘more challenging’.

Newly acquired companies, including MyOptique Group in Europe, increased Essilor’s revenue by 4.6%, while its €46bn merger deal with Italian frames group Luxottica is due to complete in the second half of the year.
