Essilor: Socially distanced refraction

The Vision-R700 phoropter has been launched by Essilor to provide socially distanced refraction without compromising accuracy, the company said.

With a three-minute refraction time, the Vision-R700 reduces the length of eye examinations and helps to preserve infection-free environments while producing an exact 0.25D refraction.

Essilor explained that faster refraction times could allow practitioners to see up to two extra patients a day, adding that this could be invaluable during Covid-19 restrictions which have hampered appointment volume in many practices.

The new phoropter has also been designed to be much easier to clean, with a smoother refraction flow that makes eye examinations easier for patients.
