​One in five British adults fear visiting their optician, new research reveals

One in five British adults fear visiting their optician, new research published by Fletchers Solicitors has revealed.

Data in the Waiting Room Woes report showed fear of the unknown or finding a previously unknown health problem was the number one reason (69%) cited for these kinds of fears. Phobia of eye examination equipment was the source of worry for 52%.

Eighty percent said they hesitated to seek medical advice because of their fears.
