Wessex Optical has acquired a site in Romsey, which took the Hampshire-based business’ total to five after it received support from Lloyds Bank.
The Boots franchise partner will open a 3,500 square foot practice under the Boots Opticians brand, creating 20 jobs and boosting its current £3.5m turnover.
Zabir Ali, director at Wessex Optical, said: ‘There’s a lot of work still to do before we open, but our new space in Romsey gives us the potential to offer all the latest products and run more specialist treatment clinics using state-of-the-art facilities and equipment.’
A sixth site was planned as part of expansion along the South Coast and would add to its 55 members of staff across practices in areas such as Bournemouth, Weymouth and Wimborne.
