Professor David Thomson, last week visited the low vision clinic at the RNIB centre in London to donate the latest version of his Digital Field Screener. The instrument is a fully-featured visual field screener which runs on a PC or a laptop and has the advantage of portability, enabling domiciliary use.

Dr Louise Gow (head of Eye Health, pictured left with Dr Zahra Jessa, clinical lead, and Prof Thomson) said: ‘We are delighted David Thomson has so kindly donated a digital fields screener to the low vision clinic. It has always been a struggle to get a meaningful visual fields assessment for our domiciliary patients and this portable device will make a huge difference.’
