Funding for Eye Clinic Liaison Officer service at Bedfordshire hospital

Sight Concern Bedfordshire and RNIB fund Eye Clinic Liaison Officer service

Sight Concern Bedfordshire and the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) have jointly funded an Eye Clinic Liaison Officer (ECLO) service at Luton & Dunstable Hospital.

The ECLOs will offer support and advice to blind and partially sighted people on independent living, returning to work, benefit entitlements, emotional support and coping with home.

ECLO at Luton & Dunstable Hospital Mark Chapman said: ‘I am really pleased to now be working for RNIB after providing the service on behalf of Sight Concern Bedfordshire. This is a hugely positive collaboration between the two organisations to provide a sustainable service to those people I meet in the eye clinic who need emotional support and advice having received a life changing sight loss diagnosis.’
