Glasgow optometrist suspended

David Little has been suspended for 12 months by the GOC

A General Optical Council fitness to practise committee has suspended Glasgow-based optometrist David Little for 12 months after it found his fitness to practise impaired by reason of misconduct.

Little was suspended because he amended patient records, which did not reflect an accurate account of the patient’s appointment.

On request from NHS Dumfries & Galloway, Little resubmitted record cards for several examinations of a patient dated as far back as 2007 up to 2014.

However, he added information, which included notes about Tropicamide eye drops, a description of blood vessel calibre and comments about the fundus appearance.
