GOC adds to advisory committees

New members join its four statutory advisory committees

The General Optical Council has appointed 14 new members to its four statutory advisory committees.

Following an extensive recruitment process lasting six months, the new members will now provide expert advice on key areas of the GOC’s work.

GOC chair Gareth Hadley said: ‘I look forward to working with all new committee members and drawing on their wealth of experience and expertise, to ensure that Council’s decisions continue to be informed by well-reasoned and up-to-date advice.’

The new appointments are as follows:

Registration Committee

Louise Gow, Catherine Viner, Peter Black and Tony Harvey.

Education Committee:

Andrew Logan, Christine Dickinson, Mary Wright, Neil Retailic and Kirseen Newman.

Standards Committee:

Joy Myint, Nigel Best, Marcus Weaver and Deirde McAree.
