GOC suspends student optometrist

The student has been suspended from the register for seven months

The General Optical Council (GOC) has suspended Zarcur Dard, a student optometrist based in Stourbridge, from its register for seven months after a Fitness to Practise Committee found his fitness to undertake training was impaired by reason of misconduct.

The misconduct charge related to the falsification of five patients’ records over a span of 17 months that amounted to a breach of Standards 15 and 16 of the GOC Standards for Optical Students.

Dard admitted all the particulars brought against him and has until June 20, 2022 to appeal against his suspension.
