GOS fee increases in Wales

GOS fees in Wales have been increased to £21.71

It has been confirmed that general ophthalmic services (GOS) fees in Wales have been increased to £21.71 for NHS sight tests and will be backdated from April 1, 2021.

For NHS domiciliary visits carried out on or after this date, the fee was £38.27 for the first and second patients seen at one visit and £9.58 for third and subsequent visits.

The Welsh government confirmed the increase on September 1, which also included details about NHS optical voucher values, payments for continuing education and training, as well as a pre-reg supervisor grant.
