Hay fever advice is issued by College of Optometrists

Hay fever advice was issued to an estimated 10 million UK sufferers by the College of Optometrists as pollen count levels finally began to rise last week.

It produced an infographic to help people identify when the pollen they were allergic to was most prevalent.

It said people often did not realise that using eye drops before symptoms appear could minimise the impact of hay fever on the eyes. Other advice included wearing sunglasses and avoiding wearing contact lenses when gardening, particularly when mowing the lawn.
