Brighton's Vision Care for Homeless People (VCHP) Centre, which opened last week, is looking for volunteer optometrists and dispensing opticians.

The centre, which opens from 9am to 1pm on Wednesdays, has already dispensed five people with glasses. It has been kitted out with Topcon technology, accessories by Bondeye and its running costs are being met by Specsavers for the next three years.

Clinic manager and volunteer DO Mark Warner said: 'This is a tremendous boost, so that we know we just have to find the staff to run the centre once a week.
