Positive Impact launches eye drop formulated to improve dry eye symptoms

Positive Impact has launched a new type of eye drop formulated to improve dry eye symptoms and contact lens comfort.

The company said the drops use a natural formulation to reduce the sensation of dry, gritty eyes. The natural bi-polymer improves water absorption compared with single polymers.

Positive Impact said the drop increases ocular comfort by reducing osmolarity, increasing time on the corneal surface and through increasing tear break-up times. This was corroborated by the results of a study in which participants agreed that HydraMed improved their dry eye symptoms and the beginning and end of the day, said the company.

Positive Impact’s director of marketing and professional services, Nick Atkins, said: ‘As part of Positive Impact’s desire to build a best-in-class dry eye portfolio, we are delighted to add another unique and patented technology to our range.

‘I’ve been aware of the clinical performance of this exceptional dry eye drop for some time and have coordinated UK studies into its clinical performance with great results.’
