Independent’s brief fundraiser encounter

Netherton Eye Centre in Liverpool has provided complimentary eyewear to a local fundraiser, who is completing a charity walk from John O’Groats to Land’s End.

Michael Cullen, who is also known as Speedo Mick because of his attire of Everton Football Club-branded swimming trunks, cap and goggles, visited the Hakim Group practice for a sight test.

Practice director at Netherton Eye Centre, Tracy Tennant, said: “Mick is such an infectious character, so it was a real pleasure to have a local hero pay us a visit at the practice.”

Cullen is attempting to raise £100,000 for Leave The Light On, which runs community projects for people who feel isolated.
