Locsu and PES make PPE available via online shop

Locsu and PES have partnered to source and sell PPE to optical practices

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) has been made available for optical practices via a new online shop launched by the Local Optical Committee Support Unit (Locsu) and Primary Eyecare Services (PES).

Primaryeyecaresupplies.co.uk is operating on a non-profit basis and provides the Public Health England recommended range of PPE including masks, aprons, face visors and gloves.

Locsu and PES have identified sources of PPE at national and local levels and PES will purchase the equipment, facilitate orders and manage distribution via its network.

Mike Fegan, chair of Locsu and PES, said: ‘I am really pleased that Locsu and PES have been able to work together to help provide access to PPE to practices across England. Access to PPE has been a huge problem and I hope that this initiative goes some way to ensuring that all practices can assess the PPE that they need.’
