A London-based optometrist has been suspended from the General Optical Council’s (GOC) register for 12 months following a fitness practise hearing.
The committee found Malti Amin’s fitness to practise impaired by reason of misconduct in relation to conducting unauthorised sales and refunds using personal credit and debit cards.
Amin conducted the transactions between January 2015 and January 2019 despite not being authorised to do so while working as a store manager and optometrist.
It was proved that Amin’s actions were dishonest in that she knew she was not authorised to conduct these transactions.
