Louis Stone donated to Cardiff Optometry Ghana trip

Louis Stone Optical provided spectacle frames and optical instruments for Cardiff University’s Optometry Society’s charitable trip to Ghana, which supported eye clinics and the community.

Between July 1 to July 16, eight Cardiff University students from its Optometry Society travelled to the University of Cape Coast to provide sight tests and free glasses to the communities, and share knowledge with Ghanaian students on contact lens fittings.

The team highlighted that many of their patients in the university clinics suffered from dry eye and/or allergic conjunctivitis, either due to the dusty environment or due to other issues such as large pinguecula or pterygiums, while cataracts and suspected glaucoma were also an issue.
