A date and venue has been confirmed for the third International Association of Contact Lens Educators (IACLE) World Congress, which falls in the same week as the BCLA conference next year.
Educators and opinion leaders will gather at The University of Manchester from May 24-28, ahead of the BCLA’s 2015 Clinical Conference & Exhibition in Liverpool on May 29-31.
More than 100 delegates were expected to attend for the event supported by Alcon, CooperVision and Johnson & Johnson Vision Care.
The theme for the congress was confirmed as Shaping the Future of Contact Lens Education, with keynote speakers including Apple distinguished educator Joe Moretti.
IACLE vice president and congress chair Professor Philip Morgan said: ‘The Third IACLE World Congress presents a fantastic opportunity to shape the direction of global contact lens education and the future training of contact lens professionals worldwide.
‘Delegates will have the chance to network with other educators and professionals from around the world and to build long-lasting collaborations and friendships. They’ll return to their institutions and share their learning with colleagues and with students, the contact lens practitioners of the future.’
