Italian lens machine manufacturer MEI has announced the release of its new 4RacerTBA Swift lens edging machine.
The 4RacerTBA Swift is able to edge up to 200 lenses per hour by processing eight lenses at once. Quality inspection is performed before completion via built-in inspection instruments, including a multipoint Shack-Hartmann focometer, that measure lens power, centring, axis and size.
New features include a temperature stabiliser to improve the performance of the machine in all conditions, new milling tools and a polisher that provides high quality finishes.
A glide meter is also built into the machine, allowing users to measure slipperiness before edging to optimise speed and precision in the edging process.
