Menicon has invited contact lens practitioners to attend free seminars on fitting keratoconus patients with the Rose K2XL semi-scleral lens.
Inventor Dr Paul Rose will deliver one seminar at the Menicon headquarters in Northampton on June 4 and the other in London on June 5, both at 6.30pm. The seminars will feature live Rose K2XL lens fittings.
Dr Rose said: ‘The Rose K2 XL corneo-scleral lens provides much greater tear exchange and oxygen to the cornea than conventional scleral lenses but requires a different fitting philosophy. I will be explaining the subtleties involved in achieving a successful fit and why this design causes less corneal stress, avoiding for example, midday fogging and conjunctival prolapse.’
UK & export sales manager for Menicon’s Speciality Lens Division Gill Narramore added: ‘These workshops are designed to provide additional hints and tips for a smooth fitting.’
