Moorfields launches new virtual assistant using IBM's Watson Assistant technology

Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has launched a new virtual assistant using IBM’s Watson Assistant technology.

This virtual assistant has been designed to allow patients and the public to give their opinions on Oriel, the new eye care facility proposal. The Oriel assistant will provide answers to questions about the proposal, which will be submitted to the consultation due to take place on September 16.

Moorfields Eye Hospital chief executive David Probert said: ‘Innovation is not just limited to our clinical environment; it is also about how we connect with our patients.
