Movies to treat amblyopia

Novasight has developed an AI-based screen and glasses to treat 'lazy eye' in children

Israeli startup company Novasight has developed an artificial intelligence-based system for the treatment of amblyopia. The technology, CureSight, is a screen that patients can take home that includes an eye tracker built into a pair of glasses.

While watching Netflix, sports, or anything else available with the screen, the glasses track eye movements as the screen then digitally differentiates the image each eye sees. By slightly blurring the image in the patient’s stronger eye CureSight forces the brain to work with the amblyopic eye.

Novasight recommends watching one movie per day on CureSight for five days a week during the several weeks treatment. The startup has successfully trialled NovaSight at the Sheba Medical Centre in Israel and will now roll out 15 clinical trials across the US.
