EssilorLuxottica and CooperCompanies have jointly acquired SightGlass Vision

EssilorLuxottica and CooperCompanies have jointly acquired SightGlass Vision, a US-based company focused on developing ophthalmic lenses that reduce the progression of myopia in children.

The companies said they would leverage their respective expertise to accelerate the commercialisation of the lenses and expand myopia management options for practitioners and patients.

Daniel McBride, president of CooperVision, said: ‘Our collaboration with EssilorLuxottica delivers on our promise to make myopia management accessible and the standard of care for treating childhood myopia.’

‘We are excited to join forces with CooperCompanies, a company with a strong track-record in addressing major vision conditions, including myopia, and leverage together the SightGlass Vision technology,’ added Francesco Milleri and Paul du Saillant, respectively CEO and Deputy CEO of EssilorLuxottica.
