Nikon donates to NHS

Nikon has raised over £24,000 for NHS Charities Together

Nikon Optical UK, in conjunction with its independent practice partners, has raised £24,153 for NHS Charities Together.

During the initial Covid-19 lockdown Nikon helped practices prepare for the return of routine eye care provision with its Your Programme for Tomorrow campaign and then, along with practices and patients, made a charitable donation for every lens sale in the months after resumption.

The campaign included a personal protective equipment donation, new consumer journey, hygiene training and in-store communication to ensure compliance with government guidelines. Practice partners and their teams engaged in over 60 hours of training and development via live webinars hosted by Nikon.

Jill McLellan, commercial director at Nikon Optical UK said: ‘As patients of independent opticians ourselves we can wholly endorse that when you visit one of our partners you are in safe hands. As they put their local community at the heart of their business, we will be by their side to support them.

Ellie Orton, CEO of NHS Charities Together, said: ‘Thank you Nikon, partners and patients for this kind donation. We have been overwhelmed by the support for NHS Charities Together over the past few months and every single donation helps us continue to support NHS staff, volunteers and patients as they combat the virus. Thank you.’
