Optometrist Dr Amit Jinabhai (right) has delivered an award-winning lecture to the Association of German Contact Lens Specialists and Optometrists.
He won the Peter Abel Prize at a conference in Friedrichshafen, Germany, last month for his thesis entitled 'Higher-order aberrations in keratoconus'.
Dr Jinabhai, who starts a lectureship at the University of Manchester next month, said: 'I am really honoured to receive the prestigious Peter Abel Award, 2012, on behalf of our research group. This prize has been presented to some pioneering researchers in the past, and we were truly delighted to learn that the panel of expert reviewers selected our work for recognition.'
